Zenthai
Shiatsu

A dance of deep pressure, dynamic stretching, and energetic attunement, cradled in the safety of loving kindness and non-judgement. This is a remembering.

A conversation the body already understands.

Zenthai Shiatsu is a transformative blend of Zen Shiatsu, Thai Massage, and Osteopathic techniques. At its core, it restores harmony between body, mind, and spirit as the key to holistic healing. Each session is personalised to your unique needs, creating a tailored experience and true rejuvenation.

Embedded within Zenthai Shiatsu are the ancient principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This time-honoured healing system recognises the body as an interconnected network of energy channels, or meridians. Blood, Ki, and nerve pathways form the internal rivers that keep us alive and well. Your doctor might call them arterial flow or nerve pathways. An alternative practitioner might call them the river of life. When this flow is obstructed through emotional or physical holding, postural imbalance, or external stress, the body's natural healing capacity is challenged. The river stagnates. The result is pain, low energy, and a loss of the feeling of wellbeing.

Zenthai Shiatsu addresses that need, promoting the free flow of life force energy and encouraging balance to return from within.

"Zenthai is designed to feel good. You can expect to leave feeling refreshed, revitalised, and grounded, more at home in your own body."

Where Zenthai draws its roots

Each tradition brings a distinct intelligence to the session. Together they meet the whole person: structural, energetic, and emotional.

Zen Shiatsu

Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zen Shiatsu works with the meridian system, the energetic channels that run through the body, each connected to an organ and a quality of life. Using acupressure, the practitioner reads and responds to the body's energy patterns, releasing blockages and restoring flow. This is where the diagnostic intelligence of the session lives.

02

Origin · Thailand

Traditional Thai Massage

With roots in the Buddhist healing traditions of India and a long home in the temples of Thailand, Traditional Thai Massage carries an inherently sacred undertone. It brings fluidity, dynamic stretching, and rhythm. Your body is moved, guided, and lengthened in ways that release tension held deep in the muscles and fascia.

Osteopathic Technique

The structural layer of the work. Osteopathy brings joint mobilisation, fascial unwinding, and connective tissue technique, addressing the body's physical architecture directly. Grounded in the belief that the body has an inherent intelligence and desire to heal itself, this element of Zenthai supports alignment, ease of movement, and the release of long-held postural patterns.

A session from the inside

Sessions take place on a soft floor mat. You stay fully clothed throughout, so loose, comfortable clothing is ideal. The atmosphere is warm and unhurried, held by presence, touch, and movement.

Arrival & listening

We begin with a short conversation about where you are: physically, emotionally, energetically. It is a simple, heartfelt check-in.

Grounding & assessment

The session opens with stillness, hands resting on the body, listening before acting. I read the quality of your energy and allow that to guide the session.

The work

A flowing sequence of pressure, stretching, movement, and stillness. Your body will be repositioned: supine, side-lying, seated, sometimes face-down. Each transition is unhurried.

Integration

The session closes with stillness. Time is given to integrate before you return to the world. Many people describe this as the most important part.

What Zenthai can support

Common reasons people come

Physical tension & pain

Lower back pain, neck and shoulder tension, joint stiffness, and muscular holding are among the most common reasons people come. The combination of acupressure, stretching, and osteopathic technique addresses both symptom and pattern.

Stress & nervous system

Zenthai has a profound regulating effect on the nervous system. Many people arrive carrying the accumulated tension of weeks and leave feeling settled and reset.

Energy & vitality

Depleted energy, difficulty sleeping, and a general flatness often point to blocked or stagnant Ki. By working with the meridian system, Zenthai helps restore the natural flow that underpins how alive we feel.

Digestion & immunity

Many digestive complaints, such as bloating, irregularity, and discomfort, have an energetic component that responds well to this work. The abdominal meridians are often a central focus of Zenthai sessions.

Emotional release

The body holds what the mind is still processing. Emotional releases during a Zenthai session, such as tears, a sudden sigh, or warmth moving through, are normal, welcomed, and gently held.

Coming home to the body

Many clients arrive feeling distant from their body, their feeling life, and themselves. Zenthai has a particular gift for bringing them home. Presence is the medicine.

"The sacred connection that is found during a Zenthai Shiatsu session allows space for healing on a very deep level."

Presence is the first technique

I am a dedicated researcher and practitioner in the field of mind and body practices, with a profound passion for exploring the connection between the physical and the deeper dimensions of our wellbeing. Zenthai Shiatsu sits at the centre of that exploration.

My training is grounded in the Zenthai tradition as developed by Gwyn Williams. I give tremendous credit to Gwyn and to my teacher Sally Meredith for the foundations of my practice, along with their encouragement to go beyond the books and into my own way of working. That lineage is woven together with years of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine, somatic psychotherapy, psychology, and energy work, and with everything my own healing journey has shown me about what becomes possible for another person.

I believe in restoring harmony between body, mind, and spirit as the foundation of holistic healing. Every session is unique. I listen deeply, follow the body's intelligence, and work with what is present. The session that unfolds is always the right one for where you are.
